Hayden's bottom lip

This picture does not do it justice at all, but we wanted to capture Hayden in a sad moment in order to show you the size of his bottom lip. A side shot would have worked much better because when he is sad (or pretending to be sad) he can jut out that lip at least two inches from his face. It is an amazing super human trick. With those big eyes, that bottom lip, and throw in his little size . . . and I think you have a formula for . . . manipulation! But I mean come on . . . just look at him! Wouldn't you be tempted to give him something? I've zoomed in on his mouth just in case you can't see the size of his bottom lip from the above picture.

Hayden's shoe and sock obsession

I thought I had better add a little comment about Hayden's obsession with wearing other peoples shoes and his insistance on sporting an adult pair of socks on his feet. He loves to catch me after I have taken clothes out of the laundry and he will quickly snag a pair of our ankle socks and put them on. It's pretty funny since they go up to his knees! Here's a few pictures of our little sock and shoe thief!

Ooooh! Ouch! Sore neck Drew?

You know that you have run your kid into the ground when you leave for a second and you
come back and they look like this!! Ouch!

I'm such a Girl!!!

I love my little Ada! She is the sweetest little baby. I can't believe I ever thought that I would be happy to have all boys! I love having a girl. She is bringing all sorts of girlyness out of me. Believe it or not, I even made the bow she is wearing in this picture. I had to have Lamon show me how to thread the machine . . . but I did sew it myself . . . And I even plugged in the glue gun and glued on the flowers. I am talented. I'm not ready to knit booties yet . . . but I will get there!

A Herd of Goats at Stoneridge?

That's right. We had a herd of goats visit us here at Stoneridge Townhomes a couple of weeks ago. We think that they must of broken free from somewhere. It was a pretty cool sight though. Hopefully none of them decided to run out into the busy street.

Drew's Birthday Party

Last of the Birthday Festivities

Well, Drew's month long birthday celebration has come to an end today. Yes . . . Drew has been celebrating his birthday for quite sometime. This last month he has been a little excited about the fact that he is getting bigger. He has ranged in ages from 4 to 6. His favorite age is 6 though. He has been going around saying, "I'm big . . . I'm SIXTH!" His birthday is on the sixth, and we think that this is the source of his confusion. He hasn't quite grasped the older versus bigger concept. We are always telling him that if he eats his food all gone he will grow big like daddy. Well lately he keeps asking me for food, and after eating it he tells me, "I ate my food all gone! Mom, I'm big . . . I'm six!" I've tried to explain to him that it doesn't quite work that way, but he won't have it!

Today we had a little friend party for Drew, and it was a lot of fun. Even Uncle Bryce and his family were able to come! I tried to capture it the best I could. I wanted to make sure that everyone could see our amazing decorating skills. Unlike some parents who really go all out for their children's birthdays with extravagant invitations, decorations, food . . . Lamon and I felt quite proud that we brought a table cloth! And we even brought plates, napkins, drinks and cake! We forgot a knife to cut the cake . . . But how important is that really? I thought we should just all grab a fork and dig in, and I think the kids would have been with me on that . . . but Lamon managed to dish it out without a knife. He's pretty skillful. I'm pretty sure that the kids had fun even though we didn't throw an extravagant themed birthday party. Now we will have to somehow break the news gently to Drew that his birthday is really over and that he is four and not six. :)

Daddy!!!!!

Okay, these pictures are not fabulous I know. You are probably wondering why I would put such poor quality looking pictures on here, but I had to capture this event somehow. Every time Lamon comes home from work he opens the garage door, and the boys go absolutely nuts! All of a sudden no matter what we are doing it's, "Daddy!!!" And they bolt for the door. Lamon usually does not even get a chance to get out of the car before the boys want to greet him!! The boys sure love their Daddy, and Daddy sure loves his boys. I think that you can see that in these pictures, even though they are terrible.

Camping in Snow Canyon

We decided on the spur of the moment on Monday that it was time for Ada to have her first camping experience. We have wanted to go camping for awhile, and so by golly we went! It was so much fun. We have lived here for 4 years and still haven't camped at Snow Canyon. So we went and it was a blast. The kids . . . okay and I . . . played on the rocks and in the sand, we cooked some tinfoil dinners, and roasted marshmallows. It was perfect. The kids slept great, and the only incident we had was when Drew woke up at 4:30 after wetting his sleeping bag. But don't worry as prepared as Lamon and I are we remembered to bring an extra pair of pajamas! We forgot an extra pair of underwear unfortunately . . . but hey, we are improving! The boys slept great though, and Ada slept from 10:00 until 7:30 this morning! It was great! We love camping! And we are so glad the kids do too!

Ada's Blessing Day

Yes, it finally happened. Ada was finally blessed on Sunday the 4th of May. She is three months old , and looks like she is 9 months. She looked a little bigger than the other babies being blessed that day! She looked absolutely beautiful though as you can tell.
Grandma and Grandpa Barksdale, Grandma and Grandpa Mack, Great Grandma Neubert, Annie, Janie, Spencer and Jeanine and their kids, Nate and Kendra and their kids, Brandon and Katie and their kids, and Earl and Carolyn Larsen were all there. We had a Hot Dog Roast the night before at Red Cliffs (which was a lot of fun); and then after the blessing on Sunday we got together for some yummy food that Lamon made, and we had some cake and ice cream to celebrate Drew and Justin's Birthdays.

Her beautiful dress was made by a friend named Kelly Edwards. She was so sweet. I never asked her to make it or anything. One day she just told me that she already bought the material and was going to make it, and it turned out so lovely!
